I have a 1995 Ford Windstar that has broke me financially in repairs and now I have to get a new (used) Van. I would love to have a Honda or Toyota but can't afford them. ( They hold their re-sale value to high for me). So, I have to look for a North American manufactured Van. About a 2005 or 2006. Does anyone have any recommendations, I have lost confidence in the "big 3" and would welcome any suggestions from someone who is pleased with their choice. Serious answers only please.

I was going thru some used cars website yesterday and came across an awfully low priced car. Though I was a little suspicious, I wrote to the seller and we are corresponding back and forth now. He is not giving me much details of the car and he has said that he is going thru a divorce and is currently out of US. So he asked me to give my full name and address so that he can open up an escrow for this transaction thru Fortis Escrow in US ( in Miami). What should I do? Should I just drop this or does he seem reliable? Fortis Escrow doesnt even have offices in US as per their website.

I am shopping for a second car. I have my eyes on a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE that has 50K miles on it. Took a test ride and everything and it looks great, but the carfax history got me wondering.

08/23/2000 - Vehicle manufactured
09/30/2000 - Registered as a personal vehicle
10/10/2000 - Registration issued to first owner & mileage = 36
01/16/2004 - Registration updated when owner moved
05/11/2005 - Sold at Auction & mileage recorded = 50K

My question is, how can the mileage of the vehicle be 50K from 2005 to 2007?? It is an electronic odometer, so could it be possible that the person who bought it in auction in 2005, messed with the odometer? When I asked this guy about the previous owner, he said it was just traded in, but the carfax says it was sold in an auction more than a couple of years ago. Would I be making a mistake going ahead with this vehicle? Is there a website somewhere that gives the do's & dont's about buying a used car?

I want something that has low recurring costs. But I wanna buy something that looks amazing on a guy. The looks are slightly more important than the cost for maintaining the car.

I'm selling a car for a co-worker who moved to Germany before he could sell it himself, and he left me a signed title. In CA, two other forms are necessary when selling a car, but unlike the title (which specifies a place for the previous "owner" to sign), these other forms ask for the "seller's" name. His impression was that I am the seller and he is the owner, so I should be the one to fill out the seller information. Is this correct?

hey ive just put a deposit on a new vehicle and am trading in my old one as part exchange. theyve valued my old one and asked if i had full service history to which i said yes as ive always had it serviced regularly etc. Your going to think im an idiot but ive only ever owned one vehicle previously from new so i didnt appreciate that you were supposed to have your booked stamped for every service you had and no one at the dealership has every mentioned this!! cars 7 years old only done 50,000 miles and i have copies of the receipts for the each years service and they havent exactly given me top wack trade in so i presume if i take these along it will be ok? just a bit concerned but i presume if it was a major valuation factor theyd have asked to see the log book. didnt know if i should mention it lol feel a prat now but as i say i didnt know!!
