Is there a significant difference in the price of a GM vehicle when using the GM discount for friends as opposed to the GM family discount. My uncle works for GM, so I am actually not covered as a family member. So, I was thinking of having my father put the car in his name and he could buy it under the Family discount. However I doubt there will be that much of a discount in price, if any. Please let me know if you have this information. I'm curious as to how much I would save on a 2007 Pontiac G5 Coupe.

Obviously, I've looked at mileage, etc. But are there any red flags to avoid being swindled?

Here's what I already know. Look for mileage, damages, make sure it drives good. Should I ask the seller to take the car to a mechanic to have him check to make sure everything's okay? I appreciate any help.

Prefer a small pickup or SUV. I want something that's not going to break the bank (around $10,000) and that's reliable.

I'm trying to buy a new or used car but since I'm still young all the dealers and banks say the same thing; you need a co signer. But I have no one to cosign for me including family, relatives, and friends. So if anybody can direct me to a financial institution that could help me without a cosigner that would be great.

isn't haggling good? can you not get a car for a lower price by haggling? then why do so many people rave about how great saturn's "no haggle" policy is?

I have a 1996 Intrepid car that has 185,000 miles I want to sell. My husbands brother wants to buy the car but the most he can buy it for is $400. He doesn't know for sure if I am going to sell it anyway. The book value is $2,200. I may not be able to get that much but at the same time I will get more then $400's. I may have to take a $200 dollar cut because the window has a crack. I was getting ready to sell it to the public for $1,200 dollars. How much do you think is reasonable? I am a stay at home Mom and we cannot even afford to fix the door on our van. I feel like I am caught in the middle but at the same time I know we need the money. My husbands brother has a truck that stopped working and also he is giving it to the bank. His brother filed bankruptcy 2 years ago. His wife has a car they drive. The sturggle here is should I just give the car to my husband's brother or should I sell it to the public for more money when I know I need the money? Please help. Thanks
