I am passively shopping for a hybrid SUV. I drive a ton, so net effective miles per gallon is an important factor in my decision making process.

I am assuming, based on stickers, that MPG is close to the same for hybrid vs. standard vehicles because MPG refers to miles per gallon of gasoline.

What I am most curious about is, what impact does the electric power have on net effective MPG? Flipping between gas and electric, how many miles could I expect to travel on a full (24 gallon?) tank of fuel and a full battery charge?

Let's say I have a 24 gallon tank, full of fuel and I take it out on the highway. At 22 mpg, I can get about 528 miles. How many more miles could I expect to travel in a hybrid?

If the new Chevy Tahoe Hybrid (due out in late 2007) gets 15 city and 22 hwy [pretty much (if not) the same as a regular Tahoe], what is the added benefit of the Tahoe Hybrid?

I check for the code and it says that the catalytic converter is the problem. The light was reset. How important is it to change it, or can I wait until my emissions test? Does it have any other effects on performance of the car?

My daughter has an early 90's model Maxima and every time it rains or the car is wet, when she accelerates the car starts choking out like it isn't getting gas. It has stopped completely on her a couple of times. The first time it happened we changed the fuel filters but that didn't seem to help.

It runs fine and she can go anywhere when the conditions are dry, this only happens when the car is wet.

We have had several people look at it and no one seems to be able to figure it out.

Please Help!!!

Driving along, following my routine one morning on my way taking my son to Day School, I see a huge white puddle - yes, white. I think, "Huh. The milk man must've spilled alot of milk this morning."

Splash! A pick-up truck was behind me and hit his brakes and glared at me in my rear-view mirror.

About two minutes later, it dawns on me. Milkmen don't go around spilling milk these days and there was a huge, empty, five-gallon paint-bucket on the curb in my peripheral as I went through the puddle. My new car of three weeks got white mink tags splattered all over the driver's side on my pretty mirror silver paintjob!

AAAAAAaaaaargh! Luckily it was waterbased and has mostly come off, but geez!

I have a 2006 Alfa GT gasoline version and need to relocate to the United States. I would like to bring it with me as it is brand new and I love it. I have found Alfa service and dealers in the Seattle area where I plan to relaocate, so in theory service is not a problem. DOT seems to says all European passenger vehicles are essentially compliant.
Can I bring it to the States? Has anyone done it?

I bought a pre reg car from a main dealer. After 10 days or so noticed a little bit of rust. Inspected the pannel and thought it had been resprayed (also found an untidy lip on the wheel arch). Took it to a body shop who confirmed it had been resprayed and was not a particularly good job. Can anyone advise me of my rights in this matter?

I have someone coming to buy a car tonight (I am a dealer) and he wants to be sure that the car is hpi clear. I said that the buyers fee I paid at the auction house covers this as I know from reading it on the t & c's in the auction hall but do not have anything in writing to show him. He sounds really awkward and to me is a tight bastard for not paying £30 to check the car himself!
