im almost bankrupt and i seriously need to get out of paying any taxes. i was thinking about starting my own church, but then i decided that was just too much work. is there a way i can just subside on welfare?? that would be cool since i would be able to play WoW all day without my mom telling me i need a job.

I'm 18 years old and work for a luxury hotel. I'm only here about 6 weeks and will have made about $1500 when I finish. About 20% of my wages are taken out as taxes on my paycheck. On the stub it says FIT, FICA, ST CA, and CA SDI. Will I be eligible to file for some kind of refund later in the year?

I have some serious confusion about the tax that i pay from my earnings. I work as a software consultant. Plz can you make some time and do some calculations as per the numbers that reflect my paystub. Below mentioned pay is for 2 weeks(15 day) period pay details. Its the recent pay slip and this is same as earlier ones.

SALARAY::: Gross $ 4160

TAXS & DEDUCTIONS:
FICA 318.24
FED WT 807.44
VA ST 216.69

TOTAL Deductions = 1342.37

Net pay is : $ 2817 ( 4160- 1342.37)

The pay roll is run by ADP.
In W4 form filled by me, option A,B,E are checked by me.

As per deductions i see, that tax cut seems to be around 33%. Why is it much high.?
Plz can some one explain about the deductions and reason for why am i paying more tax than my frnds who are equal to my gross pay. Am i also paying the employer tax as well which otherwise my emplyer should pay.?

thanks for your time

The sublet will go thru the application/interview process. The sublet will pay me a monthly "rent" amount and in turn, I have to pay the Board a sublet fee. Will the IRS be informed of all this, making my rent receipts taxable?

I recently divorced and in the process of updating my W-4. I don't have to pay alimony to the ex but I do have to pay child support for my daughter. We both have 50/50 custody.

I guess what I want to know is what is the best way to set up my W-4 so I don't get burned at the end of the year. It's weird being single again.

I can't even really find out what it means in my managerial finance book much less how to calculate it. I don't really need you to do my problem for me, just give me an example of how to do it.

My wife is in the medical field, she currently works for two different Dr's providing the same service. One Dr is close to home while the other is quite a distance. Both of the Dr's pay her without taking out taxes so we would like to maximize her write offs. There is a good chance she will find another Dr to work for in the near future, so we would like to know what our options are with leasing a car.
