We own ten rental units (mobile homes) and charge X amount in rent, but then we ourselves pay 145 dollars to the owner of the mobile home park for lot rent. Can we use this as a deduction on our income tax return?

I have several trips which I have completely kept driving miles records for in 2006. My online tax software isn't very clear on where I can claim these miles on my Schedule C so I am wondering specifically where I can claim the miles and/or the deduction for the miles.

At the time Fidelity told us that if he did not take a distribution on the after tax money, he would need to file a form 8606 every year with our tax return. This was done in May of 2006. Turbo tax did not prepare the 8606. Do we need to file this form in the year of the rollover or not until the next year. Turbo Tax support does not have an answer. We are both over 65 and retired.

I do cleaning for an elderly lady. She ran an add in the local paper. I have worked for her for over a year (here and there...not steady, daily or even weekly...more on a as needed basis) Well after a year she now wanted me to fill out a w-9. Will this screw my taxes up as I already work for 2 businesses that are w-9. Should I up my cleaning rates to compensate for what I may have to pay at the end of the yr. ? How should I handle this situation. I have to supply her with my SS# today. Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated. Also if she provides this W-9 does she have to supply me with workmans comp. or unemployment or anything in general?

Rather than relying on taxes, communities should be directly responsible for raising any required funds to pay for all extracurricular public school activities, including after-school sports.

I'm looking for a tax form that should say Rent on it and the current year to get tax credit for rent. The library doesnt have the form printed out, their sign said to check online. I'm looking for the form for renting for personal use, it says Rent and the year in the heading. Not the forms for business rentals. Does anyone know where to find this online? Can you send me the link? I live in Wisconsin, don't know if this is the same as property tax refund or homestead credits.

I am in the military and have moved to three different states in the past four years, with my wife coming with me. She has worked in all three states and we are confused as to which state she is considered a resident of for tax purposes. We do not vote, she has a Connecticut driver's license, and we don't own any property. She is a civilian. That is all I can think of that may be relevant, but if there is something I forgot, send me a message. Thanks for the help in advance!

My g/f moved into my fathers household with us last march/april when we found out she was pregnant. She kept her parents insurance through the pregnancy since we didn't get married. My dad wants to claim her as his dependent for last year, since she was a full time student for both semesters last year, which he has the right to do. But my g/f has a concern with her insurance thinking that her parents could get in trouble due to insurance fraud if someone else claims her other than them. Is this a misplaced fear or could it have bad consequences. She says her parents claim that they signed a paper for the insurance that she was living under their roof or something to the effect, which seems fishy to me. They have BlueCross/BlueShield if that will help you guys any. Any info would be appreciated.
