I have been paying 22% on all of the jobs I do, although my overall earnings are under my personal annual allowance. I am not self employed; I work for companies on a part time or casual basis. How can I go about claiming my tax back as my attempts every tax year so far have failed. I know I probably can't do this til April but want to prepare myself. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

How to collect money from an oversea client?

We are located in US and we gave this service for a UK agent. The gent subcontracted us for a big project. The original owner of this project is not this agent. Now the original owner is using our product but does not have any idea they are using unpaid product. Now the middle man "the agency who gave us the project" collected all the money from the original client but refused to pay us. Now my question is do we have an intellectual property on the product? 2. How to make the agency to pay us. We have all the paper work and agreement but could not find a good collection agency they can tackle this client. What is the best way for us to get our money.

Any idea?

I receive the high rate for the care component for my 4 year old son who has severe developmental delay and learning difficulties.

I was told when my son turned 3 i could apply for the mobility part too,i recently phoned to ask for a form to be sent out and the woman i spoke to said i wouldn`t be entitled to it for my son as he isn`t disabled and can walk.

Although he can walk he is being assessed for dyspraxia and he can be quite clumsy and falls over alot when out,he gets anxious when out in busy places and has absoloutly no sense of danger and is fascinated with wheels and cars and would shoot right onto the road in a second, this is why i need to get taxi`s most places.

I was just wondering if anyone could advise me if i may be entitled to the mobility part too, answers appreciated, thanx.

Hey there,do you have to pay tax when you have a job if your under 18?
and also does anyone know the limit of how much you earn when you are required to pay tax,i heard if you earn 120 a week or less you dont have to pay tax?
Or does everyone have to pay a certain amount of Tax regardless to how much you earn (if over 18)?

Would any of the following methods work? do you have any other suggestions?

1.) Sell rooms separatly (staircasing) insuring that the profit from each room was too small to atract tax.

2.) Giving house away as gift & receiving gift from buyer.

3.) Doing cosmetic damage, selling the rights to the house above market value then undoing damage.

4.) sell house below cgt threshold on condition that buyer also purcheses fixtures & fittings at seperate extortionate cost.

5.) starting a sole trader estates agent (in britain there hardly regulated at all) and valuing your property below cgt level, selling at market value & taking rest under table

We've received a payment from a customer of us from Gemany. Let's say 10000.
They have a VAT number (in Germany). So they did not pay us any VAT.
Also there were no goods that crossed the boders. We are making some 3D models for them.

The question...
Do I have to show this sum in the box 8 of the VAT return?
I think, NO. Am I right?

I signed a contract to say I'be self employed, I even saved all my tax and paid all my NI. However, when I went to an accountant he poiinted out that it looked strangely that I was employed, or should be employed for tax purposes. I took an ESI test, and that said I'm employed. I have since written to the Inland Revenue requesting they tell me whether I am employed or self employed. HOWEVER. my accountant reckons I might be unlucky and get fined as he already submitted my tax self assessment tax return. HE is the one who did the cosmetics to gloss over the fact that I didnt have an self employed expenses, and my book keeper has my original accounts to prove it, so why should I be fined? Also, at the time I thought I was self employed and took action accordingly, ie saving tax. Accordingly, when there was doubt, I sought advice from the IR. Does anyone know what is the likely outcome here given I am blatantly employed legally speaking.

I have recently started a second job at Domino's Pizza for a bit of extra cash. I asked about filling in a P46, and was told by the manager that I wouldn't need to do one because the tax is the same with or without one, and that if i did fill one in then it would make dominos my main job with the lower tax code, and put the higher tax code on my full-time monday-friday job. Is this correct??

I have to complete a tax return (yipee) for the tax yr Apr 2005-06. Situation is this: I moved overseas in October 2005 (within EU), prior to that I was in employment with PAYE tax deducted at source.
I have two properties in the UK which I let out. At various times one or other of these has stood empty. I also have a few k in investment trusts which I guess are taxed already. Question: without wanting to sound like a capitalist traitor dog, what is the best option for minimising the tax bill - I understand if you set yourself up as a 'sole trader', or limited liability or something like that it is one poss. loophole.
I earn (not very much) money where I am living, teaching English, this is deducted here. There's a double taxation with the country in question (Lithuania). Finally I did some work in the summer for a UK co. on a freelance basis. This will go on next year's return so I need to know best approach should I do any more work on this basis.
Cheers
