I'm thinking of going part-time and I want an accurate idea of whether I can afford each of the various options I'm considering.

I'm on a normal tax code (just the standard personal allowance) so I don't need a professional piece of all-singing, all-dancing software, just something that would work out the tax and NI for a single person and tell me what my net pay would be if I type in my gross.

Anyone know of anywhere I can find such a thing?

Yes, I know I can work it out for myself :) but I want to run through six or seven different options and I don't fancy sitting down to do all the maths. I don't have Excel on my home computer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Having just returned from my local Co-Op supermarket, I notice that such items as clingfilm & oven foil are in the baby food and nappies isle.
Marmite is not with sauces & pickles, oh no, it is the jam department.
Batteries, if you are looking for a pack, are next to the sandwiches.
Highly relevant !
I am confused.
Please help & comment on this issue.
"Why are the gravy granules no-where ner the "cooking aids" section. I find them on the end of an isle offering Christmas wrapping paper.
No, I found it all eventually, but.
Weird & silly set-ups.
Do you have a place like that ?

My mother (70 years old) owns 25% of the property she lives in, with another relative owning the remaining 75%. My mother wants to hand her share over to me now, with an apporoximate vale of £50,000. She would remain living in the property. Are there any tax implications? (the whole estate is under the CGT threshold)

I've just had a letter from my old council saying that a retrospective council tax adjustment means they owe me around £60. This was for a house I lived in 8 years ago. They want me to write back and say that I currently live at that address in order to claim my rebate.

Why should I still have to live there? If I "overpaid", then surely I'm entitled to the rebate whether I live there or not?

At the moment I'm thinking of carefully wording the letter, such as "I can confirm that the address shown is correct" which doesn't actually say I live there!

Any help appreciated, thanks!
