I am the custodial parent and I have physical custody of the child. Her father claimed her on his taxes before I did without my knowledge or permission. What are the fines and penalties involved with this type of fraudulent filing for him? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I'm hoping a tax expert is out there somewhere.

I'm no longer claimed as a dependent by my parents, I payed a good amount of college tuition this year, and also earned a good deal of money. Which form should I use? I heard I can only claim the tuition credit with a 1040A, but is that a lot more complicated than the 1040EZ?

I am using turbo tax. So do you put in the amount from freelance into the w-2 part of turbo tax? Or dont do that section at all. This is my first year doing this on my own.

include that in your income to pay taxes on it.
If your only income is social security and this pension. No outside income neither one works. But they are worried that they have to pay taxes on this 400. a month pension.
since you paid taxes on it when you earned that money to put into your pension plan. He is over 65 she is 62

A retired couple haven't paid any taxes for years, but she is now getting her social security and the two incomes may make them over the wire to pay taxes. They asked me how much can they make and still not pay any taxes?
Another question: If you make under do you still have to file to pay state tax?
