I got my property tax bill for my old vehicle (which was sold to an auto shop when it broke down a while back). On the bill and through looking at my info. online, I notice the tax is for that car and not my new one. What do I need to do? Do I still pay for my old car's tax? And if so, what about my new one? Thanks!

I'm going to school to be an accountant, But I'm also supporting Ron Paul (You know, beacuse I care about America and Freedom)

But if He started working to abolish the IRS and succeeded, Well I heard jokes about how accountants would go out of business.

But I was planning on being more of a Financial adviser type. Am I in danger if the IRS was abolished.

When I told my dad I wanted to go to school to be an accountant he said that If I got a CPA I would be a made man, without income tax is this true.

If it is then what should I do to make the Big Bucks.

Can my fiance adopt me so he can claim me as a dependant on his tax return. He provides more htan half of my support, all of it actually
but i made more than 3400 that year with my internship and i am a full time student. If he is my parent and i am under 24 and make more than 3400
they can claim me as a dependant, so if he adopts me can we do that?

I put $1000 in a flexible spending account at my new job. I know I am getting braces in Feburary which is going to be covered (I made sure).
Anyway I plan on going to graduate school in Sept. and quit my job.
When I signed up for the account, they said I can use the whole thing right away (which I plan on doing so my monthly payments are cheaper)
Long story short, if I quit the job before the $1000 is deducted from my pay what happens? It would be in September, and the FS account goes to Dec (of next year) Would I just owe the remainder back to someone (it would be about $300?)

They told me to do something and agreed to pay me at my hourly rate. (I had been their employee.) They then reneged and refused to pay until I threatened to report them to the state. They then sent me the correct amount of money, but incorrectly listed it as a non-taxable expense reimbursement, rather than wages, and did not withhold taxes. Do I still report it on my 1040?

Bank of America agreed to pay me $100 within a certain number of days, if I opened an account. I opened the account. Had they paid the money on time, it would have been taxable (as interest). However, they did not pay it and wasted many hours of my time by having me repeatedly call on the telephone and listen to them give new dates that they also failed to meet. Eventually, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the bank posted a $100 credit to my account, which is listed in their records as a refund of fees. An actual refund of fees is not taxable (unless the fees were deducted on a prior year's return), but they never charged the fees for which this is a "refund". Is it taxable?

Why would a homeowner's association (a non-profit) choose to file their federal returns under section 528 as opposed to section 277? What are the advantages? What are the disadvantages? Would the IRS website give me access to the tax code?

It's the end of the year, and I've noticed that I've had more deducted from my check for 401K contributions than have been deposited into my 401K account. This may not be a problem (yet), but I would imagine the IRS allows only a certain amount of time for employers and/or plan administrators to make these deposits. I've already raised the question with the employer (so they can look into it and fix the problem), but I'd like to know how long I should normally wait before raising this concern with them again in the future. How long does my employer have between taking a 401K deduction from paycheck and depositing it into my 401K?

Blingo had me send them a tax form since it was over 600 dollars. I guess anything over 600 we need to get taxed on prizes.
so exactly, how much should i set aside? does it go into the same category as gambling winnings?

I make 45,000 a year before taxes. Im in CA and fed 1 and state 0. i was thinking of setting aside like 300 dollars. i thought it would be 28 percent of winnings or something. i hope not : (

also blingo is a legit site as I already got the prize through fed ex and its been on the news as a very reputable site.
