I need the attachments of the tax return and not a copy of the actual 1040. Would a transcript be about the same thing?

A return transcript is a line by line information from your filed and accepted income tax return. This return transcript is free of charge and is accepted at all school and banks(for loans).
Request the return transcript on form 4506-T, a fax number is provided for you to fax the form or an address is provided.

You can request a return transcript that lists line by line entries. This would be almost the same as a copy of the return.
