How can you get any thing back when you do not work? You indicated that you have not work since July 2006 that is 17 months of not working. You have not work or receive any wages thus no taxes were paid by you. Earned Income Credit is based on earnings (wages) and you will not get any EIC either. In fact, you will not even have to file for 2007 at all.

If you have not worked or paid taxes in 2007, then you cannot get money back from your 2007 taxes. If you did not yet file a 2006 return, you may be able to get back money from the taxes you paid while working by filing now.

If you don't have any earned income (unemployment doesn't count), there is no possible way to get a tax refund.

I find it curious that you admit that you are not working but can afford an internet connection. If I wasn't working, that is one of the expenses that I would cut first.

If you didn't work in 2007 then there's nothing to "get back". Earned Income Credit is only available to people with earned income who meet the other requirements also - that's why it's called EARNED INCOME credit.
