I'm now a full time student in college.
I had heard before that you get a higher tax refund if you are? Kind of like when you're working, but underage?

Is it true?
and if it is,
I had a job this year, but i quit when i started going to school. would the refund only apply to the money i made WHILE attending college?

Hi..My wife is visiting family in California at the moment..She was given a gift for me from her family( a used guitar actually) around $1000 in value..She won't be returning home to the U.K. again for at least another month , or maybe two ..If I ask her to ship it to our home address in the U.K as a gift, will I be liable to any duty or charge?.
I imagined as it was a gift from my wife and not something store bought I wouldn't but would like to know for sure.!.Would appreciate a reply..Thnx, Mel....

Actually, not me, but my finace. She received about 40K from her great aunt's will a few months ago. Her great aunt lived in New Jersey (which has an inheritance tax), but my finace lives in New York. New York does not have an inheritance tax. Also, if there is a tax, when is it collected? Are there any ways around the tax?

We all know that if you have a baby sitting job there is no tax or social security taken out of you weekly or monthly check, is it possible that you can pay into social security
you know like send money into you social number about $100.00 dollars every month, and this will help build you social security when you reach the age of 65, do any one know anything about this, or is it that you have to have your own business to do this.
