I own a home in Arkansas but no one resides there at this time. I am a resident of Brazil where my wife of 14 years is a Brazilian National. My income is earned from my work in Saudi Arabia. I do not earn any money in Arkansas. I assume that we cannot have dual residency so "Do I need to file Arkansas Income tax Returns"?

I'm a biz major and i really want to be an accountant but not if the job mkt would shrink drastically if we instituted a system such as the fair tax that would eliminate income taxes. And by the way the fair tax plan is the best alternative I have seen so far. However, I believe if there was a change in the U.S. tax sys., it would just become more complex and require MORE accountants.

If such a law exists then why is it that not only the supreme court and the constitution say that federal income tax is illegal? Why also are the taxes that are received by the federal government not used as any tax that is collected by them supposed to be? Since it is the job of the prosecution to prove guilt, why didn't they provide a clear and concise reading of the law instead of railroading him? For that matter why haven't the other courts gotten involved and done the investigative research that is neccessary to truly determine if Ed Brown is in fact guilty of anything more than being a great patriot. To take this a step further, why haven't more americans gotten involved and asked these very questions of our government? Oh I know why.... Because most people are gullable and have no desire to be leaders and right the wrongs being done by our nations leaders. If you have better reason why these things are happening please tell me.

I know there were several similar questions about this in the past year, but they are now closed and were rather not to easy for me to understand.

I am about to go back to school (i am 24, turning 25 in August), and if my mom can claim me as a dependant then i can get the family discounted tuition. This past year we were told (me and my bro) that we both made to much for her to claim us. Mom makes about 35k, and we both figured that we had made over over 10k. (this year he is now also making 35k, so he knows he can not be claimed, stupid lucky job offer)

I need to know what is the limit that i can make (i live in Ohio if it make any diference) and still be claimed as a dependent?

I figure it is somwheres around 10k, but am not sure. so if someone could give me a close estimate that would be most helpful.

I recently got my state tax return. When I signed the papers my tax consultant gave me, it was $1300 for state, 1300 for federal. But the actual check I received for the state tax was $280...was there a mistake on someone's end? or would this be the correct amount. Is there anyway I can fix it if was it was mistake?

I did get 1500 for my federal though..

This Code 26 and also of 1954 - I still do not see Where, How and When the Congress of the U.S. authorises the Internal Revenue ( Company ) Service, to collect taxes !!!!!!! Folks, You have not answered my question !!! When was the IRS authorised to collect taxes ?!?! - What Bill, Statute, Law, Conversation, Phone Call from Congress says " IRS you are now an agency of this government and will collect taxes !!!!!!"
Please read my question. Congress has the right to levy taxes, I know that - Code 26 simply explains Who should pay taxes - Who told the IRS to collect taxes - Where is the Bill, the Law, the Statute that says so ---- OK ?

I never received a W-2 tax form from a company I worked for last year, even after attempts to contact them were made (no response) and I was unable to submit my tax forms. I am finding out that it is too late to submit for an extension also. What are my options?? Do I have any options? Am I screwed? I won't owe the gov't anything, I would only be receiving a refund, but advice would still be appreciated!

Here's my situation. I am married with no kids and live in an apartment with my husband. He files single "0", as he has a lot of write offs at the end of the year. I work in an office , nothing to really write off and when I claim single "0", I get killed in taxes every week and get hardly anything back at the end of the year. Is there a better way? Should I file married "0", or married "0" but withold at higher Single rate. I'd like to have a few extra dollars for bills every week but do not want to owe at the end of the year. Even if my refund is not much, that would be fine.

I have contacted the person to request their SSN several times and they haven't called me back. I already filed my tax return which reflects the payouts as contract work. I'm sure not filing the 1099 will result in an audit -- if I have the cancelled checks that show payment to her -- will that help?

Can I file the 1099 without a SSN? What should I do?
