im getting my tax check in a week what should i buy???

If you don't have 6 months worth of wages in the bank as a hedge against some catastrophic event such as an unexpected job loss, put it in the bank and leave it there!

I would invest the amount into your retirement account. But if you must spend it, plasma tv would be my choice

while interest rates are up,, "buy" a bank CD,, for at least a year,, you'll get over 5% interest,, and you'll be happy you did it.
