Which form should I use: 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ?

I'm "married, filing separately" and I did not have any income last year to report. I am only filing so I can file my FAFSA.
I was told to file a 1040 to claim Hope and Lifetime Learning credits, but then someone else told me that you can't claim those if you are "married, filing separately".
Am I eligible to file a 1040A or 1040EZ, and if so, should I?

i paid out more than two thousand dollars between two jobs. if i only file my primary job, i get back almost eight. including my second job, which i paid out almost seven hundred in federal taxes, my return goes down like $400. why? this really pisses me off let me tell you. the irs are a bunch of thieves.

We buy stocks thru my husbands company and 2006 we sold the stock, I am trying to do our taxes thru Turbo Tax and it keeps asking for the grant date of the stock. I am not sure what this means? I have always used Turbo Tax and I am now stuck because of this stock sale, I can not figure it out. I do not really want to pay someone to do my otherwise easy taxes. Thanks.

I have been offered a relocation package from a company and the incidental 'lump sum' payments are tax assisted. What does this mean?

Thanks

i was wondering if instead of filing tax online and pay 50-70 dollars just for 1 person. I could buy from office depot a turbo tax and use it for me, my gf, my brother and my sister.

If you're a college student who took a year off but are still living with your folks, can they still claim you as dependent on their taxes? Does it depend on what I made this year? Even though I made a decent amount, I'd say I'm still dependent on them.

Thanks.

My RV is parked on a seasonal campsite, is self-contained, and used by me on and off for 6.5 months. The loan on it states that the bank has "security interest in the property being purchased".
Can the loan interest be deducted on my taxes since this is my second home?

I received a correction to the form 1099 DIV from my brokerage company after I had already filed my return along with a form W7 to request a TIN for my wife. Am I required to file a corrected return right away or can I do it in the next tax year?
Also, would I have to resend the form W7?

I live in GA, but _used_ to live in AL. When I moved from AL to GA in Jan of '06, an out-of-state employer failed to update my address properly (I did notify them) and reported all my '06 earnings to my old address in AL. Now they tell me, whoops, but too bad, just file an AL state return. Is this right? Do I have to file an AL return, even though at no point in '06 when I earned the money did I live in AL?

I have had a personal business run from my home for the last 10 years, but last year I had no income and am now closing the business. I have money in the "Carryover of operating expenses from 2005 Form 8829, line 41". I was told I could write this off on this year's taxes, but how do I do this? I have no equipment, inventory, or other assets that are being sold or need depriciating.

My employer needs to change my wages on my W-2. The error was only discovered in Late February. Can the employer still send the amendment in time so that I can still file my return by April 15th. What is the last date that the IRS will accept the changes to employee W2 data from employers?
