No, you can only deduct expenses that you paid in the year that you paid them.

Deductions are based on the date paid. If you paid something in 2006, you can claim it in 2006. If you paid it in 2005, in order to deduct it, you would have to amend your 2005 return.

No, you can't. That's what your standard deduction was for. Each year you choose either the standard deduction, or itemizing if you had more deductions than the standard.
