I mailed it and I was wondering how long it would take until I get the money directly deposited into my bank account.

I was wondering because I'm pretty sure I mailed it late January-early February so I was worried. I wish I would have thought of doing it online but I thought there would be extra fees involved.

What you can do is look up your refund status on the IRS website---here's the link to Where's My Refund---

If you put in your info they should be able to tell you exactly when they are going to do a direct deposit. Depending on when they actually received the return--since you mailed it--it usually takes about 10-14 days for them to do a direct deposit.

Next year try filing online for free. That's what my son did (17) and used H & R Block, and it's a lot faster that way to get your refund--especially if you choose direct deposit.

Using snail mail, it should take about 4-6 weeks. In the future, I recommend e-filing. If you make less than a certain amount (about $50,000), you can e-file for free using a site like TaxAct.com. I had my refund in about 9 calendar days this year.

It took about 4 weeks with a 1040A. The later you file the longer it takes. About 4-6 weeks should be about right.

yea i agree about four-six weeks, but for next time...if you file on line you can choose to have it direct deposited between 7-15 days after it has been recieved at the IRS.

Probably 6 weeks....electronic filing would have been quicker.
