Another question I have concerning Millennium Management located in Beachwood, Ohio. I was hired as a apartment maintenance worker for one of their managed apartment buildings located in in Ohio. When I was on-call they only paid me once a month for overtime pay. Is this legal under Ohio labor laws? I feel I should been paid every pay period for overtime pay with my normal payroll check. Not once a month so they could fudge my overtime and hope I would forget about the hours I worked in overtime that month.

I filed last year and owed money. They sent me a notice with the amount I owed, which I've lost. Now it's almost time to file again and I still haven't paid. How can I find out how much I owe them now that there will be penalties tacked onto the balance?

I run a small electrical business and do my own book keeping. I have set up some direct debits such as van insurance, advertising, etc. So as an example, i have an invoice in Feb for £400 but will be paying 10 monthly installments via direct debit. So, do i enter £400 for Feb or do i enter £40 a month. I am keeping all receipts and entering these on a monthly basis but Feb will look like a bad month even though i havent paid any money yet. And also the reason of separating the cost between the tax year. Hope someone knows and gets back to me.

I understand that recent Budget for first time imposes 12 1/2%taxes on rents of Commercial Property from coming Financial Year 2007-2008!
Is this payable by the lessee or the Lessor?
Who has to credit the tax by challans if this has not been specified in lease agreements already existing?
Since this is an indirect tax it seems it has to be paid in addition to Income tax by Lessors who enjoy lease of property and not by the landlord who may have several tenants in a building in a designated Commercial area!
The above points need to be clarified! Can anyone provide answers!

So, I got my first job my freshman year in college working at the front desk of my residence hall during the 2003-2004 school year. I made at least $1000 each year for the years 2004, '05 and '06 but I never filed because I didn't think I had to since I made so little - I thought you had to make at least $2000 to *have* to file. Now that I know I owe back taxes what am I supposed to do? I don't have any old W2 forms or anything like that and I don't have any paperwork saying exactly how much I made from '04 and '05. I'm kinda scared because I don't want to get sued by the IRS! Please help. Thank you:).

i
I had some idiot do my state taxes and he forgot to fill in the line that read "State Income Tax Withheld". Therefore i owed CA, $497. When, i found the error i rushed to HR block and they filled out a 540X and now CA owes me $178. My question is should i send in the $497 and then wait for them to refund that PLUS the $178, or just wait for the $178, The Fedral Tax Board says I shuold send in whatever I owe and then later they will refund that amount + $178 but the woman at HR block says there is no need to send in the payment since I filed the amended return before April 15th. What do you think?

Another question have have... I worked for Millennium Management based in Beachwood, Ohio as a aprtment maintenance worker. My contract with them was, a hourly salary and a apartment that was valued in the contract as so $xxx a month. Now, the free apartment was not taxed and not on my tax statements at the end of the year that they gave me. But, when I missed a day of work, they charged me a pro rated amount of rent for that day and deducted it from my payroll check. Is this legal for them to do, or are they trying to cheat the IRS. Its not fair to me either, because if I try to collect unemployment or apply for a loan, will they consider the free rent as part as my salary. No, they wont. But how is it free, when I have to pay rent when I miss work?
