You cannot write off kindergarten tuition, but if your child is in an extended-day program, you can use the part which is for day care for the child tax credit, assuming that child care is necessary to enable you to work or go to school.

Are you talking about a school that provides kindergarten, but also before and/or after-school care? If the tuition for the kindergarten part can be separated from the part that's for the before and after school care, you can use the care part for a dependent care credit, but not the schooling part.
