I filed last year and owed money. They sent me a notice with the amount I owed, which I've lost. Now it's almost time to file again and I still haven't paid. How can I find out how much I owe them now that there will be penalties tacked onto the balance?

Call your local I.R.S. office, they can supply you with the information. If it has been a while since the notice, you will probably owe a little more.

Call them or visit their local office and tell them the true, that you lost the notice but that you want to pay.

That's easy, Uncle Same gets about half your check, and you get the rest. Simple enough?
