I have extensive knowledge of business mobile voice/data products and services, business to business sales and computers. I belive there is a great opportunity in both consumer and business VoIP. As of yet I have no trade accounts, registered company or self employed status. I do however have spare time to manage a website and generate customer leads. Many thanks in advance!

We are starting our own business and its for heating and cooling. I think that navy blue, light blue, maroon, or red would be the best colors but
my husband wants a green shirt and wants to incoporate shamrocks. I think thats a bad idea because green to me would be more like a lawn
service color and shamrocks have nothing to do
with heating and cooling. Any ideas would be
appreciated. Also any links to websites for ideas
for logos for shirts would be appreciated. Thank you.

1. If someone stole other people's credit card and make a purchase on a web site, and the victim filed a dispute with the credit card company, the website merchant will receive a chargeback. What should the merchant do to avoid this type chargeback record, especially the web site offers online services which is not tangible goods?

2. Even the merchant proved that this is someone else's fraudulent transaction, will the fraudulent transaction amount counted toward the charegeback amount in the merchant's merchant account? Who will suffer as a victim here - the merchant service bank or the merchant or the credit card issuer? It doesn't make sense to hold the merchant responsible for the fraud since this is an online transaction and there is no way the merchant can prevent this, especially the fraudulent transaction has the correct 3-digit or 4-digit number and correct street address.

3. what should you do? report to the police and get the police to catch those people?

i am talking about a buiness that isn't on the level of McDonads. Something small, like a doggy daycare, or a coffeehouse (not starbucks) . this is more something community level.

And would i be infringing on their *idea* legally? or is it an ethical issue?

I have been writing a business plan for the last 2-3 weeks. I have also been racking my brain over the projections and even though I can put something on paper, how do I really know if my goals and projections are realistic? I would assume that I need a pretty good idea of what is realistic prior to opening my doors so I dont fail, but everything I find on the internet doesnt help with determining numbers.
I have done extensive research on my area (such as ages, males vs. females, number of households, median household incomes, etc.) so I know who my customers would be, but how can I realistically tell how many of them would walk through my door and buy something? I'm stumped here! Can anyone help me with this part? Please dont just provide links unless they show something new because I have gone to just about every business plan site out there, including examples. They just dont tell me how to come up with realistic figures. Can anyone with experience provide me some advice?

I have several garage sale a year and I've noticed that to do well, I have to have the sale within the first two weeks of the month. After the middle of the month, hardly anyone stops. Just wondering why that would be.

Is it necessary to have a seperate merchant account for e commerce? When a sale is made online do you not receive an order with the customers information and CC number. Could the CC number be entered into your POS manually as an instore sale then shipped? I understand its a little more time consuming but I don't expect to be receiving hundreds of internet sales daily.
