Why do more people stop at garage sales that are early in the month?

I have several garage sale a year and I've noticed that to do well, I have to have the sale within the first two weeks of the month. After the middle of the month, hardly anyone stops. Just wondering why that would be.

most people only get a check once a month and that is always at the first of the month (welfare-ssi-disability-and certain jobs)

ditto on the pay thing. Plus people have just paid their rent and have a few extra pennies
