I'm going to be selling my artwork at a large arts & crafts show in two days. For various reasons, I don't have a vendor's license to sell my art. I've done it before and no one ever had a problem with it. Today I heard they are doing random checks for the vendor's license at the show! I would buy it online, but apparently I can't do that! What will happen if I get caught besides being kicked out of the show? Can they fine me or put me in jail or something? Is there some way I can get a vendor's license quickly? I feel awful about not getting the license, but there is a really good reason for it (please don't yell at me). I'm in ohio, if location makes a difference.

I saw the infomercial telling you that you can sell their products as your own business, send the orders to them and they will ship them out. I checked them out on the Better Business Bureau site and they gave them a good recommendation. I'm just curious if anyone has sold their products online and if you had any success with them?

I'm just wondering why Graphic Artists, Web Designers, and Database Programmers do not advertise their small business in local Newspapers, Theatres, Mass Transit, and the like (eg AFFORDABLE, sustaining advertising). In my town, there are A LOT of these types of business, and very high quality, but none of them advertise. No one seems to know why, they say, "Well, my competition doesn't, so why should I?"

I have the capital to advertise my Database Programming/Web Design company, I have a sustainability plan for the advertising for 6 months, and it feels odd to have no competition in these channels.

Is it snafu? Is it a bad idea?

$600/mo would go to advertising in three channels, sure it's a lot, but preliminary ad budgets in previous months show this would pay off.

How can an idea make SO MUCH SENSE but no one is doing it?

This Q&A forum is getting very interesting. There are a lot of top professionals and well experienced retired people are participating. An online "consultancy forum + audio/video conferencing" with yahoo's payment service similar to the ebay deal with 5% as service charge of the deal can help everyone.

This can be very attractive for outsourcing industry where the buyer and seller has access to another platform of very cost effective and issue based consultants and experts from the international talent.

What's your opinion?.
