My dad owns and opperates a small construction business. He builds stair cases, mantles, and installs trim. Up to this point he has gotten most of his business by word of mouth, but that isn't working so great any more. Any suggestions for good ways to advertise?

Ok so a friend of mine tells me the the other day how hes making a killing buying and selling cars. He says he found a nice location got the lisence and bond he needed, goes to dealer auctions bids, and pretty much sells the car at $500.00 to $1500.00 over what he paid. I tried to get more info on it be he was reluctant to say..He also added that he sells at lest two cars per week or more he started with really cheap end cars beaters if you will, But needless to say it has me thinking is this business he describs as good as he say's? $10.000.00 will get you started he says bla bla,

I guess my question is do any of you own such a small business and earn a well income by it? What are the auctions like? how is your turn over if you pay rent how much just things like that. Thank You Dray M.

Already have the premises and a small customer base, I'm pretty good at marketing, love cooking and will employ a waitress. I've already got insurance and alcohol license as it's in a Hotel with bar, etc. I want my place to be really special! I'm most worried about taking ages to prepare the food when I'm busy.
