We are planning to go to the Good Sense financial program in a couple weeks. We have little credit card debt (1000), but I have lots of college loans (45000). Our credit scores are terrible. We already live on the minimum. Is it realistic to think we may learn something? My husband doesn't want to go. I'm wondering if anyone has been to one of these classes or one like it. Is it motivating or do they talk about reducing debt by cutting back on what you spend. My husband spends any extra money we have and currently is not willing cut back unless I sell my car. My car only has 4 payments (of $222) left and it has a lot of life in it still. We have no savings. My hope is that this class may excite him enough about our future that he may see "the light". Am I grasping at straws? There is a part of me that just wants to say to heck with our future because I'm the only trying. What do we stand to learn. I feel like we need to be on the same page before we tackle anything. Thoughts?

I checked this week into getting a tiny cheap efficiency apartment. They asked a few questions and came back with the fact that I have excessive home loans in my name...can't rent to me...I said i would be selling the homes. dividing things with my husband.

I don't want to live with the hostility at home when i say I want to seperate. I literally can't get away!

I need a plan. If I can't get an apartment until I sell my home I will have to go into my 401k and use the money each month for the payment. (mortgage amount is what I earn each month). my car is worn out now almost and I can't get the car loan either as I don't earn enough according to the bank...used cars here I come...

my spouse is interviewing even as I type this and will probably be taking a position in another state. truley it feels like I am just getting out of college have no money everything is closed off to me for financial reasons. There is no where in my budget for health Ins. I am just ranting

I decided today it was time to look at my checkbook and balance it, I havent looked at it for about 2 weeks and what a mess. I am not organized enough to do it everytime I write a check. How often do most people balance their check books and what is the most effective way of keeping track? I pay bills online often , and have my insurance for the car and house automatically withdrawn on the 3rd of every month.

I am an 18 year old single male who plans to become a pastor. Because I am going to be a pastor, I will not make that much money and I'm wondering if there are any money saving tips or deals or anything at all that I can start now so that I will not be... as broke... when I'm older. I want to do everything I can now to provide for my future family and be able to lead the type of lifestyle I want to. Thanks and God Bless!

If I get into a bind during the term of my mortgage what will protect me if I can't make my monthly payments? Should I spend the least amount of cash for amortgage and have liquid side investments or pump all my money into the house to try and pay it off quicker? And if I do pump all my money into the house is it really safe during the term of my mortgage in case something happens to me financially and physically?
