There is not much you can do. It is like a cell phone. They are not neccessities, so if you want it, you will have to pay.

It's not just Comcast..it's all the cable companies. I know here in my area they (excuse me) have you by the b@lls because if you do not subscribe you do not get anything (maybe 5 channels with an antennae). I pay approx $150 a month for my cable and high speed Internet.
Maybe if enough people petition the government to cap or reduce rates something eventually will have to be done.

Com cast does not make billions on advertising, actually it costs com cast thousands of dollars to advertise, i.e television. If you feel your cable bill is too high the switch to a smaller package& save $$$$$$.

It won't work. Nice try though. That's like everyone not buying gas on the same day. It's called economy. That's how it works. If you don't want to spend money it, get rid of it.
And no, I don't have any personal interest in any cable company. I'm just really sick of people complaining about the price of things these days. Get over it, it's not going to stop.
Even if you did get a mass amount of people to do this and they lowered their prices. They're just going to jack the prices back up once everyone signs on for service again.
Do you understand the logistics of business? They have to make a profit in order to stay a business. If all of the cable/dish companies lowered their prices to the customers liking, they'd go under. And then there would be no cable at all.

Switch to DirecTV. It's a lot cheaper and a better signal and sound. I did almost 3-years ago and never regretted it. Plus the equipment is free and so is the installation. Unless you want Hi-def. Then you have to pay extra for the receiver.

I was just talking to my wife about this stuff last night. We pay 50 a month for our satellite. We pay 35 for our cell phone. We pay 20 a month for our high speed internet. This was all stuff we didn't even have 20 years ago! That's progress, I guess!

You are sooo right! I know companies need to make money, but the rates we are paying for cable are a bit too much. I have Time Warner, and they are the same.
I think you have a good idea, just let me know the date. I'm in.
Good Luck!!!

I don't think this will work (although the thought is nice). I doubt you will find enough people willing to give up their cable for this to succeed. Personally, I wouldn't - I would not be able to come visit all you people on Yahoo! Answers!!!
