I recently received an e-mail saying I had won an International Lottery. I immediately wrote back and sent them a check so I could claim the money. But instead of having them route the cash to my bank accounts, I told them to send it to a deposed Nigerian Prince who needed help recovering his fortunes. I figured if I invested my entire winnings from the International Lottery with this Prince, I'd be a TRILLIONAIRE!!! Unfortunately, I haven't seen a dime! Is it the Nigerian prince's fault? Or should I write the people who run the International Lottery?

Anyone who helps me figure this out will either get a billion dollars, or ten points.

Am considering selling my flat which I have had under a year and have 3 year fixed rate interest only mortgage (August will be one year). In the Deed it says 3% - 36 payments. 2% - 24 payments. 1% - 12 payments. I know it sounds stupid but how do I work out what the amount would be (exact buttons on calculator to work it out)?

My mum has a prepayment meter for her gas. She was being charged quite a lot over a period of time & one evening a gas man called & said she was due a rebate. He said he'd put it onto her account & sure enough he did, she was given £280 on her prepayment card. This was about 18 months ago & my mum recieved a letter from bailiffs 2 weeks ago saying they were going to seize her goods because she now owes this money to Powergen. She has called them & they've been totally useless, just saying that they have no record of why she got the refund & she has to pay for it as she used the gas. They even complained that she didn't top up her meter over the period of time that she had the rebate but why would she when she was £280 in credit! She has now been told she has a week to pay it by bailiffs which seems totally unfair as she didn't even know she owed it. She's trying to speak with Citizen's Advice today, does anyone know what rights she has? This is a mistake on their part totally. Thanks.

Why do they trust the stock market reports? Have they any idea about the personal background of the NYSE Board of Directors? Does no one recognize the mirage currently called pensions? That the housing bubble is bursting, despite media manipulations?

I am not lazy. I suffer from a mental illness that makes it hard to maintain employment. I currently recieve disability benefits but I have to use more than half of my benefit each month to pay my rent. Sometimes, I run out of food. Usually, I don't have two nickels to rub together. I don't have a family and the bill collectors call me so much that I've turned off the ringer to my phone. I don't want to sell drugs or my body. What are my options?

I am a student , still in college, i have over 20k of cc debt and adding student debt to that as well.
i do work, but i cant dedicate myself to working 24/7 to pay my debts, I live off of financial aid from school, and not from my employment money, i am on my own, no parental assistance.

my credit right now is good, all my credit cards have good intrest rates, some are fixed at 8, others are prime plus 1.49 , or something similar.

I own no property or stuff of value.

I constantly pay the minimum and then charge for necessities like food b/c i have no money left. My rent is 800 and i have about 1000 from financial aid with wich to live on. Plus my job but in order to do well in school i cant work that much, i work very little, sometimes making less than a 100 a paycheck, soemtimes around 300.........

Would i be able to file for bankrupcy?

or would i be required to quit going to school and to get a job to pay solely for my debts?

I have not finished college, and I dont know If I will ever be able to go back unless I join the military. I ruined my credit rating because I was unable to pay off my debt and now I am working just to get by and pay off a tiny portion of it. I am considering going into the military to help me with my school debt, because this seems like its the only viable option. Debt consolidation might make sense, but I dont know what I would do if I were to lose my job and be unable to pay off the consolidation company. I'd ruin my credit even further...
I want to go back to college while I am young. Do I have any other options?

I am 21 and faced with so many decisions, especially financial decisions. I have college debt (I have not yet graduated), and I would like to pay off this debt eventually. I am being offered a car for free, but would have to pay insurance, which is more than public transportation, but a car will save me money if I end up selling it. I am thinking of investing, either an IRA account or doing regular trades, but I might also need my money if I lose my job or move. My money is just sitting in the bank. I am thinking of treating some scarring that is bothering me, but it is kind of expensive. I am considering seeing a doctor about my hair loss, but again, this is not cheap. I am trying to gain weight and get stronger, but that will cost money. I am thinking of joining the military so I can pay for college, get stronger, get health insurance, pay off my debt, learn new skills to put on my resume, and start a career, but I am opposed to what Bush is doing. So what do I do?

Whenever I've put money into my checking account through an ATM I've always used a deposit ticket from the back of my check books because that's what my parents told me what to do. But I've heard from friends and people I work with that if you're depositing at an ATM you don't need to use a slip.

So do I need to use a slip or not when making deposits? If I don't why do they still put them at the back of your check book if you don't need them?

--My account is with Wells Fargo if that makes any difference.
