Adding all assets, subtracting all debts, what would average worth be.
Mortagages should be into latter stages, retirement savings increasing, etc etc.
My guess is average working man or professional would have net worth of about $450k.

Sound about right?

Hi all,
It's tax time and we are in a situation where we are considering moving $4k from an individual investment account (stock) into Roth IRA. The question is: What are the tax implications of such a transfer and if it is a prudent move?
thanks

We're going to be living on a single income this year as I take an extended maternity leave. We'd like to find a way to lower our mortgage payments during this period. Any suggestions?

$250,000 house (that's the low end here), 2 car payments, some credit card debt, one school loan payment, various bills....nothing too crazy.

How much money would you need? How much should we be able to live on?

My husband has run almost £2000 overdraft and he says its not debt just an overdraft, nothing to worry about.

I am worried sick and I still see it as debt!

He had just finished paying a massive debt last year which took him over 10 years to pay off.

Now he's started a small one without telling me. I made him promise to tell me if he had any problems with money which he failed to do so.

I helped pay off a few of his urgent debts in the past.

I can't afford £2000 debt right now as things are different now we have young children and I'm unemployed.

I give my parents money on a monthly basis so they can save for their retirement, but they end up spending it on other things. I want to open an account for them where I can deposit the money and not let them know about it, butI want them to have access to it in case of emergency, what kind of account does this need to be?

Every week my job puts my check in my bank at 1am on friday morning. The past two weeks Washington Mutual has held charges for over a week, and when my balance is low, right before my direct deposit comes in, they put through over $100 in puchases that have been pending. This has resulted in over $600 in over draft fees in this month alone. How can I get these reversed? Thier policy says they won't charge an OD fee if there is a same day deposit, but they charged me anyways...! Help!
