Every week my job puts my check in my bank at 1am on friday morning. The past two weeks Washington Mutual has held charges for over a week, and when my balance is low, right before my direct deposit comes in, they put through over $100 in puchases that have been pending. This has resulted in over $600 in over draft fees in this month alone. How can I get these reversed? Thier policy says they won't charge an OD fee if there is a same day deposit, but they charged me anyways...! Help!

I banked at WaMu for about a month and experienced the same exact thing! They say no checking fees but just wait tell you bank there and see how long they hold your check. And my employer banked with them! I called their customer service and told them to reverse all overdraft fees or I would switch banks. They will do it. If not ask for a manager. After you get all your money back withdrawl your balance and get the heck out of there!

You'll need to go down and talk to the manager of operations because someone is dropping the ball big time. He/she may not be aware there's a problem until you tell them. Have all your documentation in hand, and explain the situation calmly. If you don't get an understanding ear, they probably have some kind of grievance procedure, which means it'll go to higher levels of management until the big kahuna sends word that the charges should be reversed. Another way to go would be to send a letter with accompanying documentation to the VP of operations at your branch. Having a cohesive and coherent piece of documentation in their hands that they can use to address the problem will get the ball rolling in your favor. Good luck!
