Never give your account numbers to a person. The only time you should give out your account numbers is to your employer (for direct deposit perhaps) or a well-established business.

Yes, they can. It's not legal, and they have to steal your identity to do it, but you just made it that much easier to do just that.

I'd also be very skeptical about someone you don't know wanting to pay you via bank transfer. There's a growing concern with wire transfer scams, particularly those involving attempting international money transfer transactions "to get around the red tape".

The Washington State Attorney General's office has a page on it online..read up for your safety--this info is good whether you live in Washington or not.

No problem. You need a bank account linked to add money or to withdraw it.

Yes, by giving them your bank details, they can both deposit and withdraw funds, although taking the money out without your consent can be considered wire fraud.

No, especially if you don't know that someone.
Never give your personal info out, tell them to send you a check or money order. If they don't then you'll definitely know they had bad intentions.

They can send you money but to take it out they would have to have their name on the account. Be very careful about your idenity and careful of who you give your account information to. I am a banker.
