I'm in high school and I need money to pay for various expenses -- clubs, events, etc. It's mostly because I feel guilty when I ask for my parents' money, and I'm too much of a slack *** to get a job (oh yeah, I'm also bogged down with homework because I'm all up on the academia). Suggest the cheapest ways that require the least amount of work, but still make a reasonable profit.

My husband and I have a $1000 credit card and a $2000 loan. We also have two vehicle payments and a house payment so we are limited on money. Should I concentrate on paying off the loan first or the credit card? They both have the same interest rate and both have the same monthly minimum due which is $40. Can anyone give me some advice about what to do and how to do it?

I'm looking for a bank with free checking, and more importantly the ability to link a line of credit account or credit card where I am not charged a dime in "transfer" or "cash advance" fees if i overdraft and have to draw on the line or card. I am currently with US Bank who has such a feature, but they dont have any branches in NYC, where Im planning to move. Anyone know of such a bank?

I'm giving serious consideration to saying "no more" to contracts and credit cards. No matter what you do, how long you've had an account, or how well you've paid...if you have even one problem you get screwed. Interest rates are ridiculous, and the "binding arbitation" agreement in so many contracts is skewered heavily in favor of the business.

Of course, I have a mortgage and a car so I can't do away with those contracts. But I'm thinking of closing out our few credit cards and finishing out what contracts we have and not purchase things on credit or take out other loans or whatever.

Does anyone else go on a "Cash only" basis? How does it work for you? Is it less stressful?

Don't you think it would be right for kids to learn about interest rates, credit and budget before they are let loose in the world ?
Finances are such an important part of our lives, and then you can still meet people that have no idea, whatsoever, about making a budget and following it and will indebted for the rest of their lives. Gosh, some people don't have a clue what the interest rate on their beloved credit card is.....scary.........
