I'm in high school and I need money to pay for various expenses -- clubs, events, etc. It's mostly because I feel guilty when I ask for my parents' money, and I'm too much of a slack *** to get a job (oh yeah, I'm also bogged down with homework because I'm all up on the academia). Suggest the cheapest ways that require the least amount of work, but still make a reasonable profit.

What are you good at besides school? You might try tutoring others for a fee. If you have an artsy side, why not open a little business of your own? Make some cute purses or necklaces or something like that. Are you good at cooking? Try selling cookies or candies! If you have something that you love to do, go with that. If you aren't sure, IM me or e-mail me and I can give you some suggestions. I have a small business of my own and it pulls in enough for me to do the extra stuff too. I use the talents I already have to do this. Good luck! Otherwise, you might have to look into a job of some sort, but I can try and help you avoid this if you want...

Basically fundraising takes effort and time. You will have to put something in to it in order to benefit.

If you are fundraising for your school you have to get permission from the principal. Usually you can raise funds privately. To be perfectly honest it will probably be turned down. If you raise funds and say it is for your school people may turn you in and you will have serious consequences.

Most fundraisers involve selling things. The one that takes the least amount of effort is probably selling candy bars. When kids are hungry in class they always buy them. In order to have a fundraiser of this type you must buy a large quantity from a fund raising supply company. Doing it by yourself and on your own is not practical.

Quite honestly you need to continue to ask your parents for money or you need to get a job.

At my high school, our advanced economics class sold coffee/ chocolate milk and doughnuts in front of the school in the winter before classes. They made quite a profit but it only works if you have a lot of students and the school's permission.

This is a lifelong lesson for you then. If you can't afford it then don't do it.
Don't feel guilty asking your parents for money, they will give you a job to do and you'll earn it.
