Let's say both married partners work. One earns about $50,000 more than the other a year. They file jointly at tax time. When the refund comes, the "breadwinner" feels he is entitled to the complete refund. They request the refund be directly deposited into one's checking account, and the lower earner decides to keep half the refund. The breadwinner accuses the other of stealing his/her money! Is this nuts??

I am in the process of trying to buy a home and recently reviewed my credit report. I noticed that one account was still reported as opened with a balance.

About 4 years ago, I had a credit card account with Conseco Greentree Financial services. The balance was sold off to another company when Conseco went bankrupt. I've since paid off the balance. I called the company that serviced the loan and they said there's nothing they can do since they don't appear anywhere on my credit report.

How cn I get this fixed? I can get Conseco to fix this since they are no longer in existence! HELP!!

I was wondering what would happen if u went to the bank to get a loan to add on to your house and the bank said they wont give u a loan to add on to your house, but they would give a loan to build a new house. So u take the loan for a new house. But, then u use it on adding on to your old house instead. What going to happen when the bank finds out u didn't build a new house. You Just add on instead?

My card was blocked by the bank(by request) and further withdrawls were made after it was blocked, now they say it's my responsibility and not theirs, as it is a chip and pin card.

I borrowed about $10,000 to someone I kind of knew to start up a business and after about six months the business was closed and my monthly payments stopped coming also. After not being able to track him down I went to small claims court and received a judgement for the maximum amount allowed in South Dakota but wasn't able to track him down for about six months, until someone tipped me off that he had moved to North Dakota which causes other complications. Anyone have any advice - suggestions?

I had targeted $1,200 for my employer-sponsored flexible spending account (FSA) for the entire year 2006 and used $900 through July. Up to July I had contributed $700 to the FSA plan. If I leave my job in August, will I need to repay the difference of the amount ($900-$700)?

I need to make some repairs on my car and get a few extra things. I'm pretty sure I have some credit built up when I was making the last few payments on my car. I also pay for our house phone in my name. Is it a good idea to try to go to the bank and try to get a loan for a few hundred dollars? I don't have a large paycheck. I've always gotten over $230.00 a paycheck every other week. I'm good at making payments on time. Or is it better to save up? If it is a good idea to get one through the bank, what should I look at? EX: interest rate, etc...
