In your experience or opinion, which Australian only banks or financial institutions offer the best deal to the general public for VISA debit cards.
In order of importance to me, please provide details about:

The name of the bank or financial institution

Their physical location, such as nationwide (which country/ies), statewide (include state), local only (include locality).

A means of contact, such as phone, email, street address, website, etc

Your personal opinion of them!

Issues that concern me are annual account keeping fee, Australian AND overseas ATM withdrawl AND account balance check, the over-limit fee, transfer costs from same AND other banks in both directions, and the interest rate when "in the green" in debit AND when "in the red" overdrawn in credit.

I currently have information about ANZ Bank, National Australia Bank, Bendigo Bank, St George, StateWest, and a few others. These and other "big name" banks are the ones I want more information about. :O

I have no money in my checking account. I'm planning on writing a $700 dollar personal check to my school for an emergency situation. I fully understand that I will be overdrafting my account. The question is, would my check go through if i give it to them?. I'll accept the overdraft charges and all. I just need to do this for an emergency

I wrote out a check in blue ink, then I noticed I forgot to add some info in the memo section, so I used black ink for that.

Ok. so here's the detail.

When I pay for things online, I could always use my checking account by providing them with my routing number and account number, etc.

however, my question is,

can I pay for things online from my savings account? (first, I should ask, would my savings account have different account number from checking account? even though from same bank?)

would it work just like checking account? like by providing the routing and account number?

please answer in details! thanks

When I had my youngest, I had no medical insurance. I paid off the doctors, and paid about $620 towards my hospital bill, but when the monthly payments started to get too hard for me to make, the hospital stopped working with me. I moved to Oregon, and have not heard from the hospital or the collection agent at all until I was served papers that the hospital is suing for the $3200 balance of the bill, plus 9% annual interest, and legal fees. I have no idea what to do. They suit says they contacted me, but the summons even has the wrong address on it! I don't know what to do. I would like to set up a payment plan, as my husband and I are making better money now and would be better able to afford it, but I don't know how to respond to the summons.

Someone we know racked up 23 overdraft charges at 32$ a pop on their debit card plus the actual charges themselves, claiming to us they didnt know would be charged then turning around and claiming to the bank the card was stolen. what do you think will happen???

banks gonna forget about it and charge the rest of us more making it easy on them??

banks gonna do a little work (god forbid) , involve the police and check security cameras at the places where the card was used and prosecute??
