1. Talk to their complaints department - there should be some form of indemnity insurance up to a certain amount automatically included with your account. Many current accounts come with this as standard these days & it could just be you keep speaking to incompetant people. The complaints department people are trained to take your side, and investigate further for you & let you know of all your options.

2. If that doesn't resolve things - talk to the FSA ( http://www.fsa.gov.uk/ ). The Financial Services Authority regulates all high street banks, and will give you all the information you need to pursue the matter further. They take everything extremely seriously. If the bank is really screwing you, and doesn't rectify the situation & has done this to other people, they may even impose a fine on the bank, and publish their misdeeds for other consumers to be aware of.

go back to your branch and ask for a number for customer services at head office , write a letter to the bank , and contact the banking ombudsman if they fail to help , this is not an unusual case and thay are asuming you gave your pin details to a third party , but these details can be had via a lebanese loop , the reason i know this is that i work for a bank and see it all the time
