So, I ordered my luggage set from:

I ordered my luggage on the 10th of this month. My total for everything totaled up to $162.50. When I look at the order information provided for the items I ordered on the site, it says the status is pending. I don't understand how that could be, when $162.50 was already taken out of my account. I'm getting real worried that they ripped me off. Should I wait a little longer to see if my items process, or report this?

Ok Thing is we can ask all day n night if one after another if each company is on the up and up.. So lets break it down. Some tell me some are real and they are making money but they won't tell you..Same with stuffing envolopes. She claims she makes 1000 a week. but ask her address or company I have to look for it. open my own business? For example: I want to open a center for the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect. I know I will need several licenses and what not, but a degree in business? Couldn't I just hire an accountant, or someone else with a degree to do the business part of everything, so I can focus on the purpose of my center?

Had a deadline of today for a company to turn something in. They are headquartered where the wildfires are being evacuated, however also have offices located in other spaces. I dont know which location my work was being done in. Need to send an email to check on the progress, but want to be respective of issues they might be having with the fire. Need some help with how to word that hopes/thoughts are with them and employees (although that sounds like a sympathy card)

my depreciation expense is a credit of $2, when making my income statement, do i put it as a negative in parenthesis and subtract it from the other expenses or do i just leave it as a 2 and add it to my other expenses??

Last summer we travelled to Cancun, Mexico and stayed at the Royal Holiday. Here, I was invited to be a member of a special program in which we pay about $200 per month until the total is $14,555. I was told that as a member of this program I can travel every where in the world and the Royal Holiday will pay air fare, hotel, restaurant. In the agreement they wrote "transportation", and the manager who signed that contract explained to me that it meant "air fare". Later, when I came back the US, they sent a letter to me to say sorry because "there is a small mistake" (their words), "transportation" implied "transportation from airport to hotel". Therefore, I had to ask my bank cancel the transaction. Now, the Royal Holiday in Cancun send me a Final Notice in which they say if I don't pay $14,555 they will send the case to the International Division of United Credit Bureau, Equifax, Trans Union. Should I bring this issue to the court? Or Any thing I should do?

Scenario: Medical tech inc. a public company w/ sales last yr over 700 mill., produces a wide variety of advanced med equipment, both stock items and custom equipment. They sell to both docs and hospitals.
By the end of 3rd quarter of 2007, it was clear to Ed Walters (chief oper. Officer) and Robin Smith (CFO) that the company was short of annual earnings target set by BOD. Ed and robin receive annual bonuses based on meeting that target. Although in recent yrs the bonuses averaged 40% of their total compensation, it was clear there would be no bonus this yr if business didn’t improve markedly in the 4th quarter. They devised the following strategy.
Ed sugguested they take unprecedented step of offering 25% discount on all products ordered in oct and nov for dec delivery. Robin agreed that would boost sales in 4th quarter. However, it would come at the expense of first quarter sales in 2008 and total sales for 2 quarters were likely to be unchanged. However, since their bonuses for this yr will be based on 2007 earnings, they decided to take the action.
Robin suggested another action, “increase production of our stock items in the 4th quarter. With the high priced production equipment, we have high fixed production costs. The more items we produce, the more of the fixed costs will be deferred in inventory.”
Ed agreed to get marketing working on sales promotion and Robin would update the production schedule to increase fourth quarter output. Ed concluded the discussion with the comment that, “this might be our best bonus ever!”

Discuss both ethical and accounting issues considering 1. since the bonuses are based on earnings what are the issues involved w/ implementing the discount, 2. what are the implications of the actions for the company’s long term success, 3. is robin correct in asserting that increasing the inventory will increase net income and why 4. are the actions proposed by Ed and Robin ethical or unethical and explain why?

i wrote the bank a check then when i got home i realised not only had i written the rong amount but id actually written the wrong name on the check. but they processed it anyway. How can they do that? i put a stop on the check cos i know it wont clear but noone seems bothered that a bank can go ahead and process a check that isnt even made out to them
what gives?
