A year end physical inventory at retail price yields a total inventory of 78,550.00. I need to prepare a calculation showing the company's loss from shrinkage at cost and at retail.
My text book shown nothing on how to do this and I am confused and lost on this question. Can some show me how to do this without giving me the answer. Thank you

If I want to ship a 30 lb package from the USA to Japan at a reasonable cost, how can I do it? DHL? UPS? A private shipping company? The USPS now only offers airmail choices...no more parcel post..it's too expensive. This has surely hurt small businesses that shipped internationally unless there is an alternative... Thanks.

PS: Is the USA the ONLY country that doesn't offer sea mail? Seems like we are just forcing people overseas to buy products elsewhere...

Please help me with this question. It is an overapplied manafacturing overhead homework question.

Balance in Bette's Manufacturing Overhead Account on November 10 was $30,000 overapplied.

Other account balances on that date were:

Direct material inventory 80,000
WIP 50,000
Finished Goods 100,000
Cost of Goods Sold 150,000

The overapplied balance is allocated to the appropriate inventory accounts.

REQUIRED:

a) Determine the balance in COGS after the allocation.

b) Prepare the journal entry to write off the overapplied overhead based on the balances in the accounts as shown above.

If you could help me with this answer ASAP, that would be incredibly helpful. Extra points would be awarded for the best answer! :)

small phone room of a small company with five guys. I am the only girl. We work in telemarketing for a brokerage company. On the phone all day. Anyways, everyday the guys end up in hour long discussions about things like Lindsay Lohan or the Iraq War or their diets. Basically, anything not work related. They do not make phone calls during these conversations. Generally, when they are doing this talking, I will sneak off on to the internet to check my email or the news for 20 minutes or so. Well, Friday, (and basically all last week) my boss exploded all over me saying that I was doing nothing at all. Not contributing because I spend all day on the internet. Absolutely not true! I spend less time on there then they do talking about non-work crap! I have been so frustrated by this all week long that I do not know what to do. I pull my weight around the office and I do not understand why I would be help to higher standard. Any advice? I do not want to go to work upset again

Company ended 06 w/ a net profit before taxes $218,000. Subject to 40% tax rate and must pay $32,000 in preferred stock dividends before earnings on the 85,000 shares of common stock outstanding. If the firm paid common stock dividends of $0.80 per share, how many dollars would go to retained earnings. I need to see the work otherwise, I will never figure out how to do this in the future.

Lets say for instance, I owned a business with the following characteristics:

Last year turnover: £20,000,000
Last year net profit: £5,000,000
Value of physical assets: £1,000,000

Firstly, what other factors might be factored into the valuation of the company?

Secondly, what would such a business be valued at (and what calculations would take place?)

Thanks!

Okay, so here's the deal. I go into work on friday to pick up my paycheck. I look through the drawer where all the cheques are kept. Just then my friend (who works there and was my mentor) walks up to me and tells me that I had been fired and my boss is withholding my paycheck.

Im wondering how this is at all legal?

He's also kept all my tips that I was supposed to recieve for the 4 months I worked there. (at a small restaurant)
Another co worker was fired as well and my ex-boss isn't even giving him a check apparently.

Please help me out guys, its really important I get this money!
