My best friend got in a car accident because some kid made an unsafe lane change into her lane, the car was about to hit her, and she reacted by swerving out of the lane, which caused her to lose control and run into a median. Witnesses who stopped, saw the whole thing and gave their details to the cops. The cops filed the report claiming that the kid was at fault because he made an unsafe lane change. My friend sent that to his insurance, and they say they are only going to cover 15% of the cost, and she is lucky she is even getting that because his car didnt make contact. he is rude, oh and he works for state farm in case you are interested. since this kid is at fault, isnt she intitled to the full coverage? Please help! I know she should get it, but legally is what he is doing justified?

I had a car carrier company transport my car. The car was damaged in transportation and the guy I hired said that the sub-contractor was responsible and I would have to sue the subcontractor. My first question is "Who" do I sue and my second is "How" since all three of us are in different states.

I've searched high and low for a decent cheap high deductible health plan in New York (I'm a healthy 27 yr old sole proprieter). For whatever reason, they don't seem to exist. Can I use my mother's Kansas address to get a plan?

Hello,

I have an insurance question. Last December, my wife, 2 y/o daughter, & I were involved in a car accident. The other driver was at fault, this was noted on the police report. My wife & daughter both required medical attention. My daughter suffered a broken leg & has since recovered. Unfortunately, my wife's recovery is taking a little longer. She required immediate surgery on her wrist & needs daily physical therapy.

Although I have a laywer, car insurance & health insurance, I've had to front enormous amounts of money to cover medical expenses. My health insurance will not reimburse me for expenses. Can I ask my car insurance company to help me out with expenses? They know the other party is at fault (police report says so). I've had to liquidate stocks & savings to make ends meet. I'm now out of money. I was not at fault, yet I'm being punished. Any advice on how to get reimbursed ASAP? My settlement probably will not occur until next July.

My doctor is not in my insurance network...I did not want to change doctors because I have already had 2 other children with her (with a previous insurance) and am comortable with her. I did not find out she was out of network until I had already begun my prenatal care with her. Now I find out that I have to pay 100% of her fee's. I am so stressed out about this and just do not know where the money is going to come from. Any suggestions?

We all know that collision and comprehensive coverages demand high premiums these days. I also know that if your vehicle is financed and you don't provide a lender with adequate insurance or your insurance is expired or whatever, such lenders can insure the collateral themselves, EVEN AFTER a loss has occured - theft, accident, fire, etc.
My question is: Why couldn't I do the same? That is, wait for an accident to happen or your vehicle to be stolen, AND THEN purchase insurance, wait a period of time, and file a claim.
I realize that you'd have a hard time proving an accident occured while your policy was active; police probably need to make an on site report, appraisers can detect the age of the damage and other shortcomings. But what about THEFT? If your vehicle is stolen and you do not file a police report, then buy coverage, wait some time, report the theft as it just happened and then file a claim? What are your chances?
I'd appreciate pragmatic responses, w/o ethical aroma.

I recently graduated from Remminton College and I desire to work from home so I may be close to my daughter. I took the Medical Insurance and Coding course because of the potential to work from home. I am single mother and I very much do not want to be separated from daughter all day.

They just called me up right now and offered 3 months of life insurance for being such a great customer. They were gonna forward me to a supervisor and I just hung up, but was thinking maybe I should see what else they have in store. They offered to mail me something. I guess that shouldn't hurt, right?

Alright, so I am covered under my dads company insurance for health and dental. He has insurance by Aetna, and I was planning on moving out soon. So, I was wondering, if I go to school full time at the local community college, as I have been for the last year, will the insurance policy still cover me even though I don't live with the parents anymore, but I would still be in school full time.

I was still making payments on a used vehicle and when it was declared totaled by ins company I had to find anothe vehicle, make up the difference due on used car loan and then go find another vehicle. I also had neck and back injury and sought medical attention and physical therapy referred to therapist by my doctor. What am I due for this mess. I am more stressed than every before because now sales tax come into play, the extra amount added to a new car note because I had to have transportation and now more stress trying to figure out what steps I need to take to get ready for even more years of car payments. I missed a total of 3 days off from work, three doctor visits and 4 trips to see a physical therapist. Now I am going through mental stress because I wasn't ready for long term payments but because of owing on the other car I had to find someone who would accept my delima. Thank God I was able to purchase a new car but now am strapped thanks to this ugly accident.
