A lot of drama at my work place has happened over the last week. Saturday a few people went to the head boss to discuss the rumors and drama. Tomorrow afternoon there will be a meeting to discuss the drama and possibly some firing. I honestly have not said anything about anyone, but there has been some rumors going on about me, as well as a few other girls. I will say that I was one of the girls who went to HR department. These rumors can cause relationship problems, as well as personal problems. I know I'm not in highschool anymore, and I should just ignore them, but these rumors are too serious to ignore. Tomorrow is the big day. Everyone knows the head lady who has started these rumors. Pretty much what she does is take something innocent that I say, and turn it into something huge and misleading. Well, I'm nervous as hell, but I'm up to it. So my question is, "How can I handle the meeting?" Should I bring notes? Has anyone gone through this before? Any help would be appreciated.

I've worked at a lot of retail/food jobs (I mean at least 8!) where I quit after a couple months. HOW can they check your job history? If I'm trying out for an office job, like an administrative assistant or even a bank teller, are they really going to care that I worked a lot of those unrelated jobs where I bailed a lot when I was like 18/19?

Here's my current sistuation. I got another job as I plan to leave my current one. The place I currently work at know that I am leaving. Anyways I had asked my current place for time off which they did not give because I needed to attend a very important family event. So I called in sick and they gave me a hard time (eventhough I called like 9 hours before my shift). Anyways I come home last night and see that there was a missed call on my phone which was them checking in on me.
I'm really upset because this is the first sick day I have used for the year out of 10 and I'm a great worker. Even though they treat me like trash. Especially lately now that they know I'm going to quit.
Anyways my problem is that I work today there. How would you go about this sistuation when you know your leaving in a few days. If they fire me can it affect my new job?

My friend has been recently terminated and his employer wants him to give them an additional 2 weeks.

I don't think he needs to work the 2 weeks, but he is afraid that if he doesn't they can block/deny him from receiving unemployment (based on their shady practices).

Does anyone know how unemployment works? We live in Los Angeles, California and your feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Something fairly easy, just part time! Mainly for the summer! No worries on age limitations, unless you gotta be like 21, which for most jobs you don't! lol So yeah, any suggestions?

I am 24 years old and at the moment work as a cashier. I'm not too proud of my job and the salary is not the best. I also always imagined to work in a good job. The problem is I have social anxiety, I am very scared of people, I am quite and have close to no communication skills.....I usually just freeze up around people. So I wanted to ask you, maybe somebody has an experience....what would be a GOOD job for a shy person? What office jobs are there, were you don't have to interact too much with people? I am so confused, it seems I just can't find the right job for me. And I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of my shyness but.....nothing worked.

I had a job interview the other day at a call center.
I never heard back from the call center, which is odd, because they told me they would call me either way, whether I got the job or not. The lady said she leaves nowone hanging.
Why didnt she call?
Also, I was talking to someone who works there, an they were talking to the girl who interviewed me. Apparently she said I did excellent on my interview, and great on my tests I had to do, BUT the skirt I was wearing looked like a skirt I should have been wearing to the bar, not a job interview.
I didn't think it was that short, but whatever.
Anyways, I am just wondering, do you really think that I would not have gotten hired because the skirt was ACTUALLY too short? Or do you think there is more to it?
THANKS!
