Pursue a career you love and the money will come. You will be doing this for a long time and you need to love what you do or you'll keep changing jobs.

If you can take the bigger paycheck for a while, then you can go back to your preferred career with some extra cash. Or you could decide to keep the higher paying job and make your favored career a hobby.

I especially liked playing frisbee, but it doesn't pay well. I also liked hiking and a bunch of other things, but again they didn't pay well either, so I had to get into an industry I liked and go that route. And now that company is paying for me to get an MBA, so you never know what opportunities lie ahead.

If you go mainly for the $$, it sure better be a lot of them, since you could be pretty miserable going to a job you hate for 50 years or so.

Then again, work consists of basically selling a certain number of hours for a certain number of dollars - if doing what you love won't give you enough to live how you want to in non-working hours, and there are alternatives that you don't hate that will give you enough, you might have to make some compromises.

Go for the job that you love. You will never have enough money no matter how much you make you are always going to want more. So it is better to be happy at your job and live in your means. I have done both and I will never go for the money again. I used to hate to go to work and have to deal with that job. Now I look forward to going to work and I am happy with the money. You just have to decide if you want to be happy or not!
