I'm currently looking for a new job, but how do you go about it without letting your current employer know? I'm trying to schedule interviews with new companies and trying hard not too miss work or lie about why I have to be absent. Any tips?

you have ever worked at.??? I'm talking about the most money, how fun it was, and ...why was it the best.???
My best job was as a Bell boy at a hotel, because I got salary, tips, a free hotel room, got to see customers in all types of dress, and got to eat free in the cafe. It was fun too...

We live in MI, and have been contemplating a move to another state (which one is unknown at this time). I'm wondering if moving to another state with a better economy is a better idea than to continue to loof for jobs here.

I have an interview tomorrow at 4pm at Spencers Gifts in the Plaza Bonita mall and I needed some pointers on what to expect the interviewer to ask. This job interview is different than any other job I've applied for. Has anyone worked for Spencer Gifts and remember what the interview was like? I'd like to be prepared because I REALLY want the job!

I have an interview with Cintas this week for a route sales specailist. The job, from what I understand is picking up and delivering uniforms and upselling other related products. The hiring manager said to dres to impress. I should have asked him to be more specific, but i did not. Do you think a tie and dress pants are too much? I am planning on wearing khakis and nice shirt.

I do not and will not work over 40 hrs because I'm only paid for 40 hrs. On the contrary, my hubby works about 60hrs a week while he is on salary for 40. Would you do it? I hate it because it takes away from time with the kids and family in general. Any thoughts? Would you do it?

Whenever I get a job, a long time ago, I get so nervous and always have to be doing something then I feel burned out.

I think part of it is I am like a child and rather stay home and play video games. I am sooooo bored at work and feel anxious.

How can I learn to relax more and make most of it.
It just seems with my useless BA degrees, I only can get simple office jobs.

Does anyone like being a secretary or receptionist or Administration assistant?
I hear the health insurance jobs suck because of pressures.

I don't want a law enforcement or medical job because I don't want to be working 24/7/365, at least with gov jobs/office jobs I have 9-5 thing.

There must be some cool job out there for me?

A man named Fire Captain Bob, who's made a mission out of helping guys with the oral board, says to wear a wool suit. My mother, who says this Arkanas is different from California, says my sports coat and a nice pair of pants will do, but Captain Bob says these are a no-no...so what should I wear?

I applied for a job on 07-07-07 through my local Workforce Center then I found the same job on CareerBuilder so I applied again on 07-09-07 to make sure that they got my resume. I added a comment that I had sent an e-mail to them earlier applying for the same job. I really want this job so I have been checking the web to see if they still have the job posted but I haven't bothered them anymore. I feel like I'm a good fit but doubt a lot because I haven't heard anything from them yet. Would it be appropriate if I sent an e-mail to them asking what the status is for the position that I applied for and when they plan on filling the position? Thanks for your answers ahead of time.

I've been working in a factory for the past 6 months and I HATE it. I work 60 hours a week (12 hours a day, 5 days a week) and only make 2,000 a month! It's terrible. The only reason why I haven't quit is because I'd feel guilty. We need more people and we're already suffering because most of the new people quit within the first week. I hate leaving everyone because I know how hard it is with 6 or 7 people doing a 20 person job. I honestly DREAD going to work every morning. I don't want to work tomorrow. I'm honestly considering quitting tomorrow but I'd feel bad. I know you can't tell me if I should quit or not because it's up to me...I just want opinions and advice.

im obsessed with music in general...im constantly listening to it and i hate when someone tries to talk to me while im listening to my ipod, haha, because what they say isnt more important than the song im listening to. im also intrigued by business and ive take a couple business classes in high school that i really like. my parents dont know why id wanna work in the music biz but idk it seems like it would be a cool job. idk what type of job id want, but my school has a new "music business" class that im taking next year. ive already looked into schools with music biz majors and the curriculum actually looks fun cause you get to learn about music and business. is my love of music and facination with business enough to possibly make this a good career fit for me?

My separation agreement states that the company will pay you all accrued but unused vacation time earned by you through the Separation date. The employer is stating that because I was laid off 2 weeks before I could use my vacation that they will not pay the accrued time. Also, they say that this sep agreement is different from the company policy agreement and that they must use the company policy agreement.

Please advise. Thanks.

Please, only those who have constructive legit answers please because I am stressed out and dont want to deal with sarcasism or wisecracks. I just need someone to talk to. I work in a fast food restaurant which pays me pretty well no matter what stereotypes say. As a matter of fact, I am one of the highest paid closers close to 8 bucks an hour and due for another raise soon. Anyways......this week my hours have been cut to about 20 to 24 hours a week because our labor is high, I make more than most others and they need to cut back because we have too many new kids hired. I dont know what to do having no car and jobs are almost impossible to get right now. One of the managers (a good friend) said as soon as the kids go back to school my hours will improove so just be patient. I am one of the best closers they have. Can you offer some advice. Maybe you have had a similar situation.

There is a girl at work and she is very pedantic,

She tends to talk down to everyone else in the office, and go on like she knows everything.

It is really doing my head in, she used to work for a bank and has alot of background knowledge so she tends to talk down to the rest of the girls in the office, saying

'No you cant do this because '

How can address the matter?!

Ok yesterday I went for my second interview at a gym for a front desk position and it was a different manager but at the end he told me that he wanted to hire me and said that he just needed to go tell the other guy ( the one who interviewed me the first time ) to hire me. Well he said they would either be calling me last night which they never did.. or today sometime. Do you think he would lie to me and not hire me? He was very nice and said he liked me alot and everything and he wants to hire me.

There is a lady I work with and she always missing work at least once a week and she always blames it on her daughter is sick or she is sick and is going to the doctor or she is always leaving early or coming late because a doctor appointment for herself or her daughter. She is a single mother but she just messes too many days. My supervior is aware of how many days she misses and know that the rest of us has to cover for her and do her work. But the main head boss does not do anything about it. This has gone on for a a little over a year now. How can I tell or confront the head boss about this situation? This is rediculous she misses so many days and when she is hear she is rude, not a team player, and complains. I don't know why they put up with this. I know she has some problems at times but who doesn't this going over bored. Should I even say anything or should I just ignore this and just continue doing my job?? I'm not the only one who feels like this in the office.

I don't make enough, but I enjoy my job for the most part and my boss counts on me almost entirely since it is basically him and I, except for a part timer. Leaving will hurt his business bad, but I can't survive on my pay and need to advance.
