A partner and I are in the begining stages of starting a consulting firm. We plan on starting small and mainly keeping it local. Hi Everyone, I am setting up a booth at a Home Show in two days and this is my first time ever. It's for my business called CAD Drafting Solutions, LLC and I provide a CAD Drafting service to contractors, remodeling homeowners and lots more. I'm still within my first month of business and impatient with how slow it is moving so I am depending on this show to bring me customers. I'm quite nervous and want to be prepared as much as possible.

What do I need to catch people's eye? What kind of hand out do you think is best and most informative? What do you like when you see a booth and it makes you walk over to it to check it out. These are just some questions to help you start but any suggestions are welcome. I already have some things ready to go but what to hear everyone's ideas so that it'll be more creative. Thank You.

I'm looking to purchase some promotional material to include with my packages when I present the product to my clients. I'd like to find something that they would likely keep long-term and have displayed around their home, with the hope that someone would ask for the name of their photographer and if they don't remember immediately, they know where to go to find it.

I considered photo frames. But the nice ones are can get expensive. And I'd like to keep the cost to $5 or below, so that I can possibly distribute them to interested parties at trade shows.

The only idea I have come up with is a magnetic photo frame with the middle being a cut-out magnetic business card, and the outer frame (4"x6") has my website or contact info along the bottom or sides.

Can anyone think of anything else? Anything that they would possibly hang on to for an extended period of time?

I am doing a CIM qualification and have been given two conflicting definitions for the term. 'Inter media' according to the text book means specifying what media in general terms ie TV, Radio, magazines etc. Whereas 'intra media' means choosing the exact media publications, TV channels within this. However my tutors view seems to be vice versa. Just curious if and marketing or media professionals could give there opinion.

This will be home-based business specializing in holding estate sales for individuals; at their residence; usually the person is leaving the home for a retirement home; we will be cleaning out closets, cabinets; setting up the estate sale in the home and holding the sale for the homeowner/client.
