I like the pun, an auto repair shop and your trying to "drive customers in."

Anyway, I have found that gigantic turkeys tend to help. It doesn't matter whether it is inflatable, or just paper mache or something else....everyone can recognize a turkey. Go ask a 5 year old to draw a turkey, and you know what he'll do? trace his hand to make it. Everyone knows that hands go on steering wheels! Where would we be in the "auto industry" without hands? Sitting in park, on the side of the road, thats where.

There are selects available from various database compilers that will allow you to select owners of specific make and model, by zip code. You could mail those car owners that match your "high end" criteria.
Sponsoring a race car with a similar audience, or a show car in regional auto shows might also build brand recognition for those car owners.
If you have a famous client that could be a part of the advertising, that wouldnt hurt.
Coupons in local mailers, flyers posted inside local businesses' on their bulletin boards. Perhaps offer a discount as an "employee benefit" for a specific company.
Host a cruise in - customers with high end cars might want to look at other high end cars. Post a website, perhaps adding a link to forums, or host a forum yourself for enthusiasts to discuss their cars.

I don't know that its marketing ideas you need as much as value add services which will differentiate you from your competition. I know that I selected my service repair shop by the 'extras'. They dropped me off at work and picked me up, if was a big job. Or if it was a small one, I was impressed with their coffee and the reading material in the shop. All sounds like small stuff...but makes a big difference to the person having to wait around for their car. Also, providing wifi in your shop couldn't hurt...so people can actually bring their laptops and work while they wait.

Its all about service, service, service in your industry....once you figure out what makes you different and what services you provide to make people's lives easier...you market that...
