If you have a site and it requires a username/password, will bots be able to index the contents?

Also for secure sites, will it be able to index?

Should this be used for your Sitemap? Is that good practice?

And how about this one?

If you do this, does that avoid reciprocal linking and count as an inbound link since the bots don't follow the links back?

Any information would help. I know what these tags do, but I am just not sure when to use them.

at my school were haveing a dance and people dont really know what it is how could we advertise for the dance besides posters, announcements and flyers. ok, for my marketing class we had to pick a product/service and hypotheticly sell it to the class. my group for a reason unknown to me decided to choose tin foil. the problem is the sales thing has to be 5-10 minutes and we dont know how to make it this long without dragging it out. also we have to tell the features/benifits for it. please just give some ideas/ suggestions, it is already to late to switch to a different product. thanks.

I am trying to improve the ranking of a site listed in the Yahoo directory. I tried to change the title of the site to see if that would help its ranking but the change in title is not reflected in the Yahoo search results even though Yahoo has recently scanned the site and captured all the other changes made to the site. It appears that the title and description of the listing in the Yahoo directory is replacing the title and description of the site reducing the effectiveness of our SEO efforts. Has anyone else seen this before?

My father-in-law is trying to make his website www.kokospersonalizedbooks.com more popular. Obviously in this day and age it is very difficult to do this and there appear to be many companies offering their services to try and help the website become number one on a search engine. The cost appears to outweigh the value at least from what I'm hearing. Anyway if anybody has some good suggestions we'd love to hear them.

Hey guys. Well I am fourteen years old. My parents aren't poor or anything but I do not get an allowance. It's suppose to teach me responsibility. As a teenager i have that tendency to indulge into teenage things such as a cell phone. Something i am in dire need to get. They have no problem with me getting one. There is a phone number on the site for that specific category of people to call if they wish to make an investment or indeed would just like some information on the subject. Would anyone know of any ways in which to get the website noticed?, preferably by those for whom it is intended to be of interest to. This could mean any possible way a website COULD get noticed. Any information on links that could be placed on the site, how to create, with respect to connecting it with other websites possibly of the same genre or area of work, interest or which contains similar information that is available on the site. Any information on any of this would be much appreciated.
