were haveing a causal dance at my school?

at my school were haveing a dance and people dont really know what it is how could we advertise for the dance besides posters, announcements and flyers. We also only have 70$ and we have a down payment on a DJ... we need to have a way to keep a good budjet on like lights and stuff. how can we do this? its on march 10th we dont have much time.

Who is planning this thing????? Okay, don't panic --- let's get to work.

1. We need adult supervision. Get one of the teachers as honorary chairman.
2. Where is the dance? If in school premises, then no need to pay rent, right? And security is already in place, right?
3. How to make money - charge admission at the door - like, $4.00 per person or $6.00 per couple. But if they buy the tickets now, give an additional dollar discount...so $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple.
4. How to make additional money - Tell your class to donate a six-pack soda per person. Sell the soda at $1.00 each at the party.
5. How to make add'l money - have a food committee - buy hotdogs and bread - sell this at the party for $2.00 each. Request one of the parents to be in-charge.
6. How to promote the party - tell everyone to start e-mailing/calling everyone. Tell the cool people to tell their friends. Tell the jocks and the nerds too. Tell everyone in school. Give door prizes to encourage good attendance.
7. Ask for donations....anything would make good prizes, like movie passes, gift certifcates (even if it's only $10).
8. Decorate with anything....use your imagination...better yet, enlist the help of the nerds (and I use the term very kindly)...they like to be involved with cool stuff...they will not let you down.
9. Have an emergency meeting right now and get to work. let's go...let's go...let's go.

Since you are a nonprofit organization, you may be able to get your local Radio DJ to plug you on their show. Just give him/her a call.
