Most states you must be 15 to get a "real" job. And you need to get a workers permit. Best advise summers rolling around so break out your lawn mower and make some flyer's with your telephone number and how much you charge. If you got a big enough neighborhood and charge 10 bucks a lawn. And after you get the clients set up a schedule on when you should come back to do it again.

It's time for you to get over the shy and awkward thing. Eventually you will have to get over it.
Here are my ideas, some better than others. For jobs where you provide a service, you can make flyers and distribute them around town.
McDonalds
Dog Walking
Babysitting
Lawn Mowing
Snow Shoveling
House Cleaning
Newspaper Delivery
Car Washing
Tutoring
Try selling stuff on eBay
Once you start making money, but it into a savings account so you can earn a little interest on it.
Make sure that if you are going to someone's house, you know and trust them and your parents have met them.

I, at one time was 14 years old too. and I wanted extra money for myself as well also. What I did was I would cut peoples grass or rake leaves, and in the winter time I had shoveled snow. Those are the things that you should do! And you are right, you are too young to look for a job because of the work laws in this country; and in paticular, your state.
But you are missing the very important point here! You want to make money, and thats good. Now I am going to tell you what I did when I was 14 years old! I would make my money cutting grass and raking leaves and shoveling snow and I got paid for it. What I did with my money was I put it in a savings account and I kept on saving until I was 18 years old and at the age of 18 I had $5,600.00 in my savings account. When I graduated from high school I used that money to "buy" myself an education. And I became a certified arc welder. Which cost me $3,600.00 and I had extra money left over for books paper and I had purchased a used car for my transportation. And after all that I had $300.00 left for myself.
So you see, you want to make money and that's very good. But think about saving it for something important like for an education in your future. Talk with your parents and I wish you the best of luck

Nothin breaks shyness like a good old fashioned case of hunger, or bitter cold rain drops hitting your forehead in the middle of the night for lack of a roof over your head!!!
Consider this a great excuse for a dress rehearsal on life........
.......GET A JOB AND ENJOY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAD ONE AT AGE 10 TO PAY FOR MY HABITS, IT WORKED OR SHOULD I SAY I HAVE WORKED EVER SINCE.

maybe you can do some stuff like selling some items to your friends like beading's, you can buy some beads and you can make it as a necklace or bracelet or accessories for mobile.... just an accessories for extra income. I think you will not be shy anymore coz they are your friends and classmate anyway.

Well I was shy and then I got to know my neighbors and I started trusting them and they trusted me so I would ask to mow their lawn or to babysit. If your really not a people person try to work at it I know its really scary but you can do it try and get to know the people around you.
