I know how you feel. I felt that way as well, but what I found was that if I knew exactly what I wanted and had all of my information organized, I could ease the process along. I am sure you have all of this in order. Your next step is to decide a budget, if you haven't already, then search for a reliable service provider with a decent portfolio.

It depends on what kind of site it is, how bogged down is the designer who you employed and how extensive and detailed you want the design.
