I am a contractor, would it be any good to buy a cheap house in Pennsylvania, renovate it "increase it's value" and then sell it?

I am finding my own houses by looking on line which I am fine with....and driving by to see if I want to look first. THEN I am calling her to make appointments. Am I being too pushy to expect an appointment that day or the next?

Hypothetical situation:

A friend asks you to hold $20,000 for him in cash, and says in about 6 months he will ask for it back in increments, like $2000 per month or so...

Can anything be done with this amount in that time frame investment wise? Can you make a couple of bucks for you, safely so as not to loose the principal? If so how?

My husband and I are considering his employers offer to move to another state. I'm not 100% sure that they will pay to corporately relocate us. Is it possible for us to just go to a Realtor and sell our home through their Relo department? Not sure how all this works. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

The contract stipulates the loan will be repaid in one year from the borrowing date at 6%. I've emailed with this person who said they would repay - but I haven't heard from them in about 1 month. They won't return email. What are my options to legally force this person to repay his loan?

I had a credit card account closed in May of 2000 and all of a sudden i get a statement saying i owe them $600 after 7 years. Shouldn't this debt already have went on my credit? Is it legal for this creditor to sell my debt to another company after this long? Just wondering.

If the husband lives and works in one state and pays a mortgage, and the wife lives and works in another state paying another mortgage; what is this called (besides a lousy set-up). Which home is the primary residence (can there be 1 for each person)? Can they file as singles (since these are abandoned spouses)?

All 4 kids will be in school come August which means after 10 years of being at home I can finally get a job. Wherein lies the problem. I would like to be self-employed because I think I will have a hard time finding a job where I will be able to be off when school is out. I have tried to work at the school (crazy lunchroon lady) but there are no openings. I don't trust my self to drive a bus. (bad vision) So anybody out there have an unusual job that would work with my schedual? I've tried the surveys and I HATE cashcrate, treasuretrooper and those other sites. Thanks for your input!!
I have also tried cleaning houses in the past. I put out notices but with no response and after 10 years I would rather not babysit in my home.

Since workers have no guarantee of receiving one (gratuatity), or at times receive less than 15%, how is it they are taxed? What other countries place tax on tips, gifts/gratuaties?
Technically, is this legal?

I recently locked myself out of the house and paid a $49.99 service call. Only the door handle was locked and not the deadbolt. The locksmith took out a credit card and in half a second, opened the door. He charged $125 to do this. He also fixed our deadbolt because the key would not go in all the way, hence, why it wasn't locked. He spent more time on this and charged $18. How can $125 be justified to swipe a credit card and open the door in half a second. I have an overall ill feeling about this company. Anyone else agree, or am I not being realistic? I can understand paying more for having a deadbolt unlocked/door open, but not a credit card swipe!

My employer recently stated that there was going to be a 27% increase in our health insurance premiums.
When I call the insurance company, they denied any increase. Our local agent/broker refused to discuss it with me.
When the deductions started coming out of my check it was an even 40% increase.
The California labor board will do nothing without a written statement from the broker but the broker is stonewalling.

Any suggestions to correct this obvious theft?
