I received a call at 4:50pm stating that it was an investigator trying to recover a debt of a payday loan of $575 and if I didn't come up with the money by the morning he would send a check fraud investigation to the police. He wouldn't verify any information. What are my options?

I read somewhere that once you pay your rent the apartment is your apartment for that month. Therefore, you may request, from your landlord, his keys to your apartment and that it is his responsibility to set up a convienent time, when you are home, to enter your apartment to fix things. Right now, our landlord comes and goes as he pleases, but almost always he comes to do any work (which is pretty rare) in the middle of the day, when none of our roommates are home. Recently he has made false accusations regarding another matter and I feel as though his curiosity may get the best of him and I don't trust him to be in our apartment when none of us are there.

I didn't have a job for the 2006 tax filing year. So, I don't have any W2 forms or income to speak of for that year. So do I still have to file my taxes in order to fill out the FASFA? I don't really understand how that works.

I am all stoked up because I get to fire my very first employee tomorrow. My boss has now put me in charge of notifying employees when they get fired or layed off. Basically i get to be the axe man, which is kind of cool I must say. How should I approach it and what should I say. I have already decided that I am going to let her work until 30 minutes before her shift is over then give her the news so she can't walk out and leave us short handed.

I thought about something like this. How does this sound? I go up to her and 30 minutes before her shift is over and say "Hey we are looking to cut payroll hours how would you like to go home now?" Knowing the lazy cow she is, she will gladly take the time off, then when she agrees I will say "Oh and one more thing, you are gonna have alot of time off from now on. In fact don't even bother coming back because we you're FIRED!!"

I know to ask a lawyer and will, but I wanted some insight into the issue. I want to essentially know if a person owns shares in a corporation and wants to leave these shares to his children, can a common law wife sue for the shares if he does not want to leave them to her? What rights does each party have?
