I didn't have a job for the 2006 tax filing year. So, I don't have any W2 forms or income to speak of for that year. So do I still have to file my taxes in order to fill out the FASFA? I don't really understand how that works.
Any help is MUCH appreciated, beyond just points.

If you can be claimed as a dependant of someone else, i.e. your parents then theirs is the tax return of interest. If nobody else can claim you as a dependant - how did you survive?

Read the FAQs on the FAFSA web site.

No you do not have to do taxes. If you had no income then how can you? I have the same exact thing going on and I just called my financial aid office and they told me that I don't have to do the taxes, just come in and fill out the FAFSA.
